Passion, kindness and love is our habit. it’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle everyday.
shop nowPlease go above and beyond with candle safety. please burn candles carefully and with respect, and follow guidelines.
To ensure your candle burns longer, smells strong and looks beautiful, simply follow these steps bellow. it’s that easy.
Set the memory of your candle right the first time you light it. To ensure you get the most out of your candle and it lasts longer, avoid tunnelling. When lighting a candle for the first time, trim the wick to about 5mm and allow it to burn for as long as it takes to form a melt pool all the way to the edge of the container. Depending on the size of the candle, this can take up to 2–4 hours. Please don’t burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Note: A single wick candle with a diameter over 10cm will always tunnel, as the wick won’t generate enough heat to melt the wax all the way to the edge.
to ensure you have an even and smoke free burn, trim your candle wick to about 5mm each time before lighting and remove any wick debris. this will help reduce soot and smoke, ensuring that your candle burns even and beautifully. it will also prevent glass jar from turning black. to trim your wick, invest in a wick trimmer or simply pinch or cut top burnt of wick each time you relight.
Keep your candle protected from direct sunlight and away from drafts, ceiling fans and air currents. this will help avoid uneven burning, smocking and decreased burn time when placed on flat flame retardant surface.
to extinguish a candle properly, use a candle snuffer and make sure the candle is completely out and the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room. do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.
Preferred way to fix a candle that has tunnelled.
1. once candle has cooled and is solid, to avoid getting burned, remove the excess, un melted wax before lighting again.
way
2. tin foil method. I recommend you do this in a safe place, such as a stainless-steel kitchen sink. wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the edges and light your candle. make sure the foil hungs over the built-up wax areas, but leave an opening in the centre so the wick can get enough oxygen to burn properly. the vessel heats up and the wax should loosen from the sides. remove foil only after you blow out your candle and allow it to cooldown.
way
3. to fix if shallow is using a heat gun or hair dryer on low speed and high heat settings, gently heat the top surface of the candle from an appropriate distance. this should melt the entire top and smooth over.
depending on the type of wax in your candle, it can take between 2 days (paraffin) and 2 weeks (soy, coconut) for your wax to reach full hardness, if you set the candle aside to not use.
Note: Refer to the ashes of our candles individually for burning times.
Pillar candles are designed to hold the wax within the candle. when you first light a pillar candle, let the pool wax reach with 0.5cm to 1cm of the outside edge, then extinguish. continue to do this step every time you burn the candle, so it does not melt over.
Note: To fix tunnelling for pillar candles, hug the rim, this pushes the soft wax rim inwards towards the flame, so that it has a chance to melt. If tunnelling has gone too deep, blow out candle, wait for it to cool down and trim the rim with a knife. be careful not to damage rim or candle might drip when relighting it.
Also note: pillar soy candles may have a chance of wax dripping. please make sure to place on heat resistant surface and to catch any wax drips incase.
Place burning candles at least 8cm apart from each other to make sure they do not melt one another, or create their own drafts, that will cause the candles to burn.
✘ Do not burn a candle all the way down for a margin of safety. Stop burning a candle when 1.5cm remains in the container or 5cm if using a pillar candle.
✘ Do not burn a candle for more the 4 hours. Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. let candle cool, trim the wick and check for unwanted drafts before lighting again.
✘ Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep.
✘ Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquified.
✘ Never leave a candle unattended.
✘ Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
✘ Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
✘ Always hold pillar candles from the bottom of base.
✘ To remove wax from vessel please refer to concrete care and tips
Choose your preferred fragrance that resonates with your mood or desired atmosphere.
No charcoal, synthetics, chemicals and resins
Prepare a suitable incense holder that provides stability and catches falling ash.
Find a well-ventilated area with good airflow to prevent the build up of smoke. Opening a window or door is ideal, creating a cross-ventilation effect that helps disperse the fragrance throughout the room.
Using a match or lighter, ignite the top end of the incense stick or cone. let the flame burn for a few seconds before gently blowing it out, leaving a glowing ember. Give the ember a moment to start releasing fragrant smoke.
Stay present and attentive while the incense burns. ensure it is safely contained in the holder and away from flammable objects. Avoid leaving burning incense unattended.
When you are ready to end the session, if there is any incense left on the stick, carefully extinguish the incense. Use a designated snuffer or gently tap the burning end onto a fireproof surface, ensuring the ember is fully extinguished. Make sure the incense is cool to touch before discarding any remnants.
Note: incense stick is to be placed on heat resistant and stable burner or holder on flat surface
ensure no flammable items are near the burning incense or where ashes drop. The ash from the incense can cause discoloration to your furniture. dispose of ash and remnants safely, ensuring they are completely extinguished.
never leave incense burning unattended especially if there are children and pets around.
Avoid touching the burning end. avoid burning incense near individuals with respiratory sensitivities or allergies without their consent.
don’t inhale the smoke directly, as it may cause respiratory irritation.
Also note: refer to incense and cone individually for their burning times.

Ways to use fragrance oils
Oil burner: is an ancient method of scenting a room. place 3-5 drops of the oil together with some water into the top of an oil burner in a safe location away from children, pets or burning hazards. light the candle at the base of the burner. the oil/water mixture will start to heat and evaporate, scenting the room. be careful not to put too much oil into the burner mix or it can cause throat and sinus irritation.
Carpet freshener: add a few drops of fragrance oil to baking soda, mix well and allow to soak for 24 hours. shake well before use and lightly shake across carpet, letting it sit for 30-60 minutes then vacuum. apply to small amount to an area of carpet for testing first.
Air freshener: add a few drops to a plastic bottle than fill with water. shake bottle well to mix. spray (fine mist) into the air to spread the scent into any room. be careful not to spray into eyes or anything flamable.
Shampoo, conditioner or lotion: add 7-10 drops per 1/8 cup of body care product. always test small amounts before spreading liberally. if your skin or hair has negative reaction, discontinue use.
Scented draws and closets:
1. Sachet – cut an 18cm square of colorfast cloth. in a small dish, add a drop or 2 to 1/8 cup of baking soda. mix well and place the mixture onto a square of fabric. What does `throw’ mean in fragrance?
while scent notes describe how a candle smells, scent throw refers to how faint or strong the fragrance flows through the air and how much it permeates a space. there a few factors that can affect scent throw. our perception, the process and the product its self.
What is cold and hot throw
Cold throw refers to how strong a candle’s initial scent is when it isnt lit.
hot throw refers to how strong the fragrance is while the candle is burning.
there is no such thing as a bad or good scent throw, its all up to your preference and there’s a fragrance suitable to every ones liking.
Note: Small vessels do not have enough space to create a deep expansion for hot throw (best used in smaller rooms); however, with a larger vessel, you can definitely change weather patterns with this bad boy, and yes, size matters
Making scent candles, its an art form as well as science and balancing the 2 together can stimilate our memory and emotions
Top notes: are the first scent you smell when you open a candle. they are usually light and fresh, and they evaporate quickly.
Mid notes: often referred to as the heart notes. these are the scents that emerge after the top notes have evaporated. they are usually floral or fruity scents and they last longer than top notes.
Base notes: are the scents that linger after the candle has burned for a while. they are usually warm, deep and rich scents, and they last longest.

Concrete candles and anything concrete, have a unique industrial look and are sturdy. all concrete has a curing time which varies depending on the aggregate used, the ratios of cement to aggregate to water etc. but for small mold, the time it takes to unmold can be pretty quick, it still needs a good amount of time to cure, and adding wax to create a candle needs additional curing time.
- We use sand, rock, stones, shells and crystals which produces beautiful, rustic, non-toxic pieces that are well suited to most home use and should be treated like earthware or pottery.
- It is strong and very heat proof, but if dropped or rapidly heated or cooled, it can crack and break. although concrete is very resistant to flames and heat, but all concrete will explode at hot enough temperatures.
- Concrete vessel candles can get hot. Placed on a heat resistant surface, it can cause burns and injury. Please use with caution and allow it to cool down before touching it. A burning candle must never be left untended. please refer to candle care and tips. Personally, i like the look of wax creating a patina that changes a piece over time, but that will happen no matter what with use.
- Concrete performs quite adequately if it is not sealed at all. But to protect and maximise your concrete’s life, sealing is the best way to be proactive, prevent stains and cracks and keep it looking good. Over time, you can polish and reseal the pieces yourself with the right sealer to continue protecting and preserving it if you wish.
- Our intention for our concrete creations is to continue to maintain strength and integrity.
- We use hydraulic cement, which uses water to cause chemical reactions, so we sand and water bathe our concrete creations immediately after de molding. it’s the art of submerging our concrete creations in water for an extended period of time (up to 24 hours). This is to slow down the drying process and allow the concrete to continue to harden. Concrete hardens due to hydration, not because it dries. This is ideal, especially in our warmer weather. By bathing our concrete creations with water, it will potentially speed up the curing process and no cracks.
- We seal each of our concrete creations and with most pieces, we apply cork to prevent furniture from scratching and getting damaged.
Note: to add or subtract cork base from the bottom of the piece, please contact Katerina on 0434 724 569 and we will be happy to arrange either way.
For concrete candles, we also seal the wax facing and the outside of the concrete piece. the sealer we use is a matte finish, is water-based, has no vocs, is totally non-toxic, no heavy metals, and has no animal testing. natural, made in Australia. please do not use for wet food.
Also note: sealing keeps the internal moisture in and the external moisture out. concrete is porous. standing soap, vinegar and water may or will leave stains. to avoid staining your items, wipe clean with a damp cloth. our concrete items are not dishwasher safe. the sealer will have a longer wear on your concrete piece.
pillar concrete candles need to be picked up from the bottom of the base. by holding pillar candle from the top, candle may detach from concrete base and can easily be damaged and dropped. please refer to candle care and tips.
To remove wax from concrete piece or vessels
1. place your piece in your freezer overnight. the wax will freeze and peel off, you may need to use a knife to pop it out.
2. pour hot water into piece and the wax will heat up and float to the top. leave until cooled and remove the wax from top, may need to repeat step. do not scrub with sponges, this will result in damage to the vessel and discoloration. always use hot water and a gentle cloth to clean. dish soap isnt necessary.
Classic ways to reuse your concrete pieces are planters, fruit bowls, jewellery trays, bathroom, beauty, stationary holders and so much more.
We offer wax refills to fit into your vessel, please contact katerina on 0434 724 569 to arrange for a refill to be sent out to you
